Campbell also talks about the deep connection many Native American Tribes had with animals, in particular the buffalo, who relied heavily on for food, clothing and other needs. I will be looking further into their myths and traditions. Native Americans also made masks for their rituals, which will be particularly useful for my project as I start to make my own for my take on metamorphosis.

Symbolism, Metamorphosis and Storytelling.
This weekend I have looked into the symbolism attached to myths, considering the narrative of my film will be based on the myths in 'The Metamorphoses of Ovid'. The Power of Myth with Bill Moyers (1988), has introduced me to much deeper meanings surrounding myths about animals. His interview with Professor Joseph Campbell, reveals that the writers of myths had much respect for animals and many of our ancestors felt they had spiritual connection to the animals in their environments. This is also evident in visual evidence such as cave paintings that became a part of 'becoming of age' rituals.
